Westside Story, June 2026
Hello mission and ministry partners!
What is happening on the Westside as we hit June 2026? A lot is happening, and we are about to hit the Summer with a charge. Graduates, empty nesting (almost), expanded ministry and travel, and more.
I am writing this from the YWAM Kona Ships campus, in Kailua-Kona Hawaii. I am here teaching in the DTS. I have a full agenda for the summer in teaching and travel: Amsterdam, Montana, and Kona again. These include more leadership development schools than DTS schools. Thankfully Molly is now able to come on some of these assignments and offer some of her own teaching and connecting with leaders. With the house no longer requiring “parents” to be present, we are entering an exciting new season of missions and ministry potential, together!
Within this timeframe is a new assignment for me: I have been asked to join the YWAM San Francisco Board of Directors. Being on a Corporate Board is actually new for me, but I am looking forward to adding whatever contribution I can make, especially in the areas of training, leadership development, organizational leadership and staying mission true.
You might remember that YWAM MT has just gone through a huge leadership transition. In a wonderful and healthy process, the previous Directors have now officially handed off the leadership of the campus to the new Director. Molly’s role on the Directors team shifted at this time as well. While no future role/title ahs been set yet, she is looking at offering her passion and skills in various ways connected to mentoring younger leaders and potentially serving Oral Bible Translation efforts. Until then she remains in a “coaching” mode for the new Director and team.
On the home-front the big news is that Eden has now graduated from High School. What a season! Late August we will be taking her to Arizona to start college, at Grand Canyon University. This girl is all grown up and ready to fly. At the same time as her graduation, we are so pleased to have Joel back at home for a season. He is finished his on-location studies at Montana State University, and will use the summer to work, while also earning a few more college credits online needed to graduate.
Not so pleasant was Molly’s dad’s emergency at the end of April. Craig suffered a major heart attack, and within two days underwent a quadruple bypass. Albeit sudden and stressful, everything went as well as could be expected and he is making a steady recovery. We are so grateful to the Lord for his hand in so many details.
The first picture on the beach is on the Oregon coast where were so blessed to spend 5 days last month. We were gifted a lovely home to stay in and used the time to decompress a bit following a very busy season. Life is full, God is good, family and marriage are wonderful and a blessing 😊
Thanks for doing this with us, together!
Jeremy and Molly
